  How do I change the background color of slider on showcase page from white to custom color of #beige like the rest of my site?

  Hi there, the following will change the slider background color to the same beige you are using.

  .featured-posts section.featured-post {
      background-color: #F5F5DC;
  }

  There is also a linear gradient at the bottom of the text in the slider (white-ish). The following will get rid of that.

  .featured-post .feature-text:after, .featured-post .feature-image.small:after {
      background: none;
  }
