Twenty Eleven margin
-
Is there a way to reduce the size of the margin around the Twenty Eleven theme ?
What is the correct way to keep it consistent on all screen sizes ?
I have noticed it gets really wide on some displays and narrow on others.Thanks

Howdy –
In general, yes, you can adjust margins and padding through CSS edits. In order to access the theme CSS you’d need to upgrade to the premium plan.
See here:

Ok lets say the site is running on premium plan with twenty eleven as theme.
How do you adjust the outside margins ? -
Are you trying to achieve a full width page layout? You can adjust margins with CSS but a drastic change, like trying to use a full width view on twenty eleven theme can cause you issues in other areas – like how your site looks on mobile devices.
I’d suggest using a theme that has that option by default.

No not really.
So here is the answer if anyone is searching.
To keep the outside margin consistent on all pages try this.
#page {
max-width: 100%;
}
This seems to work nicely without breaking anything.After many hours of searching and trying to find the answer I asked for help and a nice person at WordPress.com gave me the clues.
I was close but was using the body wrong and was trying to do it all with margin.To adjust that outside margin on a single page try this.
body.page-id-xxxx {
padding: 10; }
.page-id-xxxx #page {
margin: 10;
}
If you want it on all pages leave off the page-idIf you want the margins to disappear on small screens you would do that with media queries.
When I get that working I will post the answer here. -
Thanks for sharing your CSS here @dragoonarts. If you have purchased a Premium plan and need more help, you’re welcome to start a chat through the account you purchased the plan through :)
