twenty eleven theme h1, h2 tags don't work
-
I am building 2 sites; one with twenty eleven theme and the other on twenty twelve. On the twenty eleven, I have the Twenty Eleven Theme Extensions plugin and I believe that bypasses building a child theme. I am happy to see you can put any CSS customizations right there.
I CANNOT figure out where to make changes the H1 and H2 tags. They only make the font bold; font is the same size as the regular text on the pages. Twenty twelve has this all correct with H1 thru H6 tags.
My question is this: What is the proper code that I can put on the theme extensions plugin to make H1 and H2 tags perform just like on the twenty twelve theme?
thanks in advance for any advice!

First, please note that this forum is for WordPress.com blogs, and it’s currently not permitted for you to install plugins on WordPress.com blogs, so your blog is probably a WordPress.org setup. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ to learn more about the differences.
To get help with WordPress.org issues, you should ask in the WordPress.org forums.

The best way to figure out what CSS rules to use to change them would be to look at the current theme’s CSS (so Twenty Eleven in this case, not Twenty Twelve).
One way to do that by opening your browser, right-clicking on the element, and selecting the “Inspect Element” option. It will pull up a panel with the HTML rule for what you clicked on highlighted as well as all of the CSS that applies to it on the right. If you click on one of the h2 post titles on the left side of the panel, you should see the CSS font size rule that is used in Twenty Eleven to set the size and you can copy it and paste it into your custom CSS editor with an adjusted value.
Here is a specific example to get you started:
In Twenty Eleven, you could use something like this to update the font size for post and page titles:
.entry-title { font-size: 36px; }But then you would want to use something like this to target h1 headings *inside* post content areas:
.entry-content h1 { font-size: 2em; }To get further help, please post at http://wordpress.org/themes/twentyeleven/ and include the problem description again as well as a link to the site if it’s publicly accessible (that would help a ton).
