Twenty Eleven theme issues with displaying picture in gallery post

I have set up my blog homepage so that the posts display as gallery posts. I am trying to figure out how to select a specific picture to display for each post. They seem to be choosen at random. It isn’t the first picture in the post which is what I was expecting and I can’t find a function to change the picture. My blog is http://www.outandaboutmom.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
