Twenty Eleven Theme: Removing black bar (below the header) & comment bubble
-
Hi! I had 2 questions regarding my Twenty Eleven Theme.
I would like to get rid of the black bar below my header that contains a search bar ( which does not work btw), “home” & “about” because I feel like it makes my blog look a little bit too harsh. I’ve tried searching in the css area but im about to go crazy because I can’t find it!
Second of all, I would like to get rid of the comment bubble on the right side of a post. There’s a comment area on the bottom so i don’t see the need for the bubble.
Thank you all in advanced!!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I just used the search box with two different terms on your site and came up with results for each.
So, you want to get rid of the navigation bar? You will have to put the pages widget into your sidebar, or build a custom menu and use the custom menu widget otherwise no one will be able to get to your about page or any other pages you create in the future.
The following gets rid of everything you wanted I think.
#access, #branding .only-search #s, .comments-link { display: none; } -
Thank you sooooo much!!! It’s 430 AM here in Manila and I’m so glad I can finally sleep! hahaha I just tried your code and I love my blog sooo much now!!!
Thank you also for the tip about the widgets on my sidebar- I didn’t think about that!!!
Thank you again! You ROck!!

Oh no! I just noticed that while the comment bubble is gone..my comments on the bottom of my post is gone too ;( Is there a way to bring that back??
-
Oops, my bad. I didn’t realize they had the same selector applied to the comments link at the bottom of the post. Change the stack of selectors to this
#access, #branding .only-search #s, .entry-header .comments-link -

I’m using Firefox 9.0.1 – no navigation bar and no comment bubbles. Please clear your browser cache and cookies. If your browser version is outdated upgrade it here.

@timetheif thank you, retyped first code @thesacredpath provided. Yes the navigation bar and comment bubble is gone, but there’s no “leave a comment” ( wordings )

I am using the code above…no more navigation bar and 2 kinds of comments space is back. bubble and words :((

All you needed to do was to replace the first line in the code (the selectors) I originally gave you with the other code.
Delete everything and then paste in the stuff below.
#access, #branding .only-search #s, .entry-header .comments-link { display: none; } -
Okay I got it!!! My blog is perfect now! ( for me at least! hehe) sooooo sorry for being sooo slow! I seriously suck at this!!
It’s 630am and I can FINALLY sleep!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
