Twenty Fifteen: Post titles on galleries is smaller?
-
Anyone know why the post title on Standard posts is so much larger than it is on, say, Photo or Gallery posts? Intentional or some sort of coding brain fart?

As musicdoc1 says, it was a deliberate aesthetic decision made by the theme’s designer to make the post title larger on standard-format posts than those with any other post format.
Since Twenty Fifteen is a default (bundled) theme that comes with every WordPress self-hosted install, it went through a lot of sets of eyeballs before launch, so pretty much everything you see there is quite intentional. ;-)
If you prefer to make all post titles the same size, that’s something you can do with Custom CSS. This should do the trick:
article.format-aside .entry-title, article.format-image .entry-title, article.format-video .entry-title, article.format-quote .entry-title, article.format-gallery .entry-title, article.format-status .entry-title, article.format-link .entry-title, article.format-audio .entry-title, article.format-chat .entry-title { font-size: 26px; font-size: 2.6rem; line-height: 1.1538; margin-bottom: 0.9231em; }
