Twenty Fourteen – Background Color Black instead of white when custom?
-
Hello i have twenty fourteen and the default background color behind the wording on the 6 primary featured section is black – however – when you change it to customize it turns white. How do i make it black like the default settings?
Thanks

That’s NOT a free hosted WordPress.COM blog and we do not provide support for it here. You are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and not for WordPress.org software installs. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

In your site right now, what are exactly are you wanting to change the colors on. In the 6 highlighted posts below the header image, there is white with dark colored text. The sidebar is black with light colored text. I just want to make sure I understand what colors you are wanting to change so that I can get that right for you.

I would like the background black with light text (like how it is in the default color format with the green colored about box) where the 6 featured posts are. When you customize the color scheme the 6 post wording background goes to white and can’t be changed.
Also can the white area on the regular post body area on the main page be changed to black also?

Ok, let’s give the following CSS a try and see what you think, and see if I understood you correctly. Add the following to your custom CSS.
.grid .featured-content .hentry { background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #000000; } .grid .featured-content .entry-header { border-color: #000000; } .featured-content .hentry, .featured-content a, .featured-content .entry-meta, .slider-direction-nav a:before { color: #fff; } -

Ok, let’s try this with your current orange color scheme and see if this gets you what you want.
.grid .featured-content .entry-header { border-color: #000; background: #000; } .featured-content .hentry, .featured-content a, .featured-content .entry-meta, .slider-direction-nav a:before { color: #FFF; } -
