Twenty Fourteen color palette

  I tried one of the free color palettes and am very happy with the “blonde” look of it, but I’m not sure why the spaces under the six featured post images are slightly off grey, maybe #efefef.

  I wonder if this is a bug or hadn’t been thought of in the palette design. It’s not that off that I will change back; I’m trying to convince myself that the subtle difference is sophisticated.

  Here’s my question: If I purchase the Custom Design upgrade, would that space be customizable, and what would you call that space.
