Twenty Fourteen example layout and functions

    Hi!
    So if I want my website to look JUST like the Twenty Fourteen example, will it require me to buy a better plan? For example, in just the personal plan how can i create the top portion of the site where it scrolls through the photos with the little squares in the lower left corner of the photo?

    Hi Joe, you can make it look just like the demo on a free plan. You’ll just need enough posts, then you’ll want to choose which ones to feature at the top, and set it up accordingly.

    Thank you! I had been looking at the link you sent and I apologize, I am running low on sleep today, but I still feel like I am missing something. I just went and added a whole bunch of dummy posts with featured photos but I am just not seeing how those side arrows and little squares will show up to allow the viewer to select and see rotating pictures in the upper portion (or even to have them rotate from one to the next automatically while staying on that home page). Will those arrow and square selectors just show up once I have enough pics/blogs? Is there a tutorial on recreating this sample website? If not, no worries. I will keep working at it.

    We Volunteers do not request access to private sites. Staff can access them so we respect privacy settings and type modlook into the sidebar tags on the thread for a Staff follow-up.     Hi Joe,

    To setup the post slider like on the demo you need to open the Customizer and go to the Featured Content. Then set the Slider option in the Layout and finally add the tag featured to the posts you want to appear in the Slider.
