twenty fourteen feature content and remaining posts layout

    Hello,
I’m in the process of updating my 2014 blog design and now have featured content which I like.

The issue that I’m having is my content side bar position has my remaining posts scrolling on forever. Is there a way I can limit the amount of posts to show on a page?

I thought about adding a footer with my content info placed at the end
but what happens it repositions my images/slideshows over each other in many of my posts. It looks awful!

I returned the blog to the content side bar, but again I have all my posts scrolling on to infinity. But the images/slideshow remain in position.

Is there a work around to either or both of these scenarios?
I’m hoping not to sacrifice one for the other.

Hoping for some feedback soon so I can remedy this asap.

    Thank you in advance. Aimee

It sounds like turning off infinite scroll will solve your problem

If you go to Settings>Reading on your dashboard you should see an option to turn this off 2/3 of the way down the page under “infinity and beyond”

Here’s more about the feature if that’s of interest to you.

    Infinite Scroll

    Hello Lizthefair,

    Thank you for the reply.

Well, I can say part of my inquiry was answered in the settings-reading
section. The 2014 theme has it’s infinity scroll set up differently
but I was able to limit the amount of posts to show on the page. This is what I was looking for. BUT it completely changes my footer layout. So I’m back to seeing if I have to alter the layout again and/or posts.

If I can’t sort this out I may just go ahead and change to another theme.
I don’t have time to delve into CSS or I would alter things a bit more.

It looks like you went ahead with the theme change. Are you happy with the new one?

Honestly, I do like this theme!

The black background with the 2014 was to “heavy” for the images and
overall layout. The feature content of that theme was nice, but ultimately I
wanted a bit more which the Triton theme offered.
Simple, no major formatting issue, and my content is now easier to access
without scrolling, etc. There’s a bit more flexible with this theme.

    Glad it all worked out.
