Twenty Fourteen: Gallery background color changes when changing accent color

When I change accent color 2 or 3, the gallery background color of the title and arrow buttons change from black to gray. But I want to have thsi part the same color as accent 1. How to change that?

Could you let me know more details about this? I understand that you’re playing with colors in Customize>Colors&Backgrounds>Palettes.
Which exact color are you changing, and what gets affected by that change? Would you be able to share a couple of screenshots? You can use an online tool for that (such as https://snipboard.io/) and paste the link into your reply. Thanks!

Here you go:
First picture shows the default colors. But when I change accent color 2 (buttons etc) the background of the gallery caption changes to gray. But I want to keep this black (accent color 1) like the default.

Thank you so much for the screenshots; I see what you meant now.
It looks like a bug within the theme. I could report that to our developers, but I have to warn you that this theme is already 7 years old, and there’s a big chance this won’t be fixed.
Would you be willing to try some other themes? You can do that without activating them by clicking on the three dots next to the theme’s name and choosing the option Try&Customize.
This will allow you to see how the theme would look like with your content and how you could customize it.
Here you will see other free themes that have a post slider on top:

But my whole blog is setup for this theme already. I don’t want to change everything again.

Hello there,
It looks like Photoblog is now retired and will no longer be seeing any further support: https://wordpress.com/theme/photo-blog
This means it is subject to bugs, that won’t see a fix.
With that in mind, you may want to consider a different theme, mainly for future proofing the functionality of the site.
Please note, that once you change themes, you will not be able to revert back to Photoblog now that it is retired.
