Twenty Fourteen Menu Button Color Wrong With 4th Featured Color Palette

Hello,
I would like to report that when using the Twenty Fourteen theme in Mobile Size and when using the fourth Featured Color Palette, the Menu Button is showing in the wrong color (in the color black and you can barely see the lines in/on it), and on my former blog/test blog the alignment of the Menu Button is wrong/uneven but maybe that is because my title is too long or something like that but I am not sure.
I noticed this a while back but I never reported it, I have my former blog/test blog set to Twenty Fourteen temporarily, and here is a screenshot of what I am talking about which you can see through the WordPress.com Customizer (you can also use Responsinator.com (http://www.responsinator.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgoodjohnjr.wordpress.com%2F) to see it as well):

Thanks for the report. I filed two requests based on your feedback. I was able to reproduce the menu icon issue on in the mobile preview, so I asked if there’s anything that can be updated in the color rules to make that work better. I also noticed the search icon fell over to the 2nd line in your screenshot because of the long site title, so I asked if that could be checked out too.
I think these are fairly minor theme infractions :) so they will just go into the queue and someone will reply back later when they have a chance to check out the requests.

Thanks for the report! I’ve made a slight change to fix the colors in Twenty Fourteen; this should allow for adequate contrast on the menu toggle button.

Hi John Jr., I’m testing the orange (fourth) featured-colour palette but I’m not sure what you mean by the “menu button” – it would be super helpful if you wouldn’t mind providing a screenshot to show me what’s not looking right. When I roll over a menu item with this colour palette active, it turns orange: https://cloudup.com/cnZs-RHuzxU
You can upload the screenshot – in a graphic format like JPG, PNG, or PDF – in your Media Library, and provide a link so I can see it.

In Mobile View/Size the button next to the Search Button, which I call the Menu Button, is Black and White instead of Orange and White, which I think is incorrect for this color palette:

Thanks for the screenshot. The menu toggle being black is a design decision. It’s also black in the default black/green/white colour scheme, as you can see here:
Having it black better differentiates it from the search button just to the left, and is also an aesthetic choice made by the theme designer.

Now the only problem/bug left in this topic is the uneven menu buttons (search, menu) when the length of your title is a certain length (considered too long), I had this problem on my test blog, and so I just shortened my title to fix this for now (I shortened it to John Jr’s Test Blog); but the problem is still there for anyone who makes a title that is beyond a certain length.
My title on my test blog was Goodjohnjr’s Former WordPress Blog, which is only four words, but it still had this bug in mobile view/size:

Since Twenty Fourteen is a special default theme, it needs to be fixed on the WordPress.org end first before we can merge it into Twenty Fourteen on WordPress.com. You can keep your eye on that ticket (or follow it by clicking the “Watch this ticket” button at the bottom if you have a WordPress.org account) for updates.

I don’t know if you’ve gotten a chance to review the bug report for WordPress.org, but it is still being worked on. As soon as a full solution is in place it will be imported over to WordPress.com.
