twenty fourteen not working

  i am trying to use twenty fourteen and first it isn’t black as presented in the preview, when i activate it there is a big white space at the top where the header is, more or less showing a header broken image and there is no image. please help i need this theme.

  It looks like you’ve chosen the orange-and-white featured colour palette. If you click “Default” button in the Customizer under Colors, you should revert back to the black-and-green colour scheme:

  

  If you’d like a custom header graphic, you can select one in the Customizer under Header – currently, no header image is selected.
