Twenty Fourteen: space between posts on front page
-
Hello all!
(I must say that I am amazed at the quality of help I received here today! Koodo to all!)
My front page currently displays my latest posts. There is virtually no space between the first and second posts right now though, and its really not a good look (and I supposed itd be the same thing if I had more posts).
Any pointers on how to fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok, so just to test my own theory, I added a new test post. The problem seems to be mainly between the text and the featured image of the previous posts, if said post had a featured image. Otherwise, there is a nice space between posts.
This being said, the same problem is true between my slider and first post… Any way to made a little padding there or something?

Try this:
.site-content{ margin-top: 120px; }That’s probably more than you need but you can adjust from there.
It’s been fun to see your site evolve today–good work :)

And on a new day with my incessant questions!
(Thank you for your nice comment, and helpful tips, by the way – it means a lot to me!)So the line of code you gave me worked well for the spacing between the Slider and the first content, but when you scroll down, the space between the following posts is still minimal. If you look at the space between the end of “Lorem Ipsum” and the featured image/top of “Lectus Risus Luctus”, you will see what I mean…

gottcha–I misunderstood that you wanted to fix both–my bad.
Try this:
.post-thumbnail { margin-top: 50px; } -
We’ll become BFF you and me ;)
So it worked – bbbuuuutttt it also added a big chunk of space at the top of all my pages. Its not dramatic for the front page with the slider, but its a shame for the other pages, where the first visual element is supposed to be a big, wide, full bleed (sort of) picture. Now I am losing that cause of the space. Any way to keep the space between the posts but lose that white space at the top?
-
right–that is a problem. Let’s take a different approach.
Remove this bit:
.post-thumbnail { margin-top: 50px; }and try this instead:
.entry-content { margin-bottom: 50px; } -
Nope, no luck. It got me rid of the white margin at the top but didn’t add any space between the end of “Lorem Ipsum” and the featured image/top of “Lectus Risus Luctus” – though it did add some space between the slider and the first post…
I think I will live with it this way though as the only place where there will really posts one after the other is on the “Category Archives: Blog” Page, and its ok there. So let’s say this one is non-resolved-but-resolved!
Thanks!

Ok, I promise to let it go. . . .right after you try this ;)
.entry-content { margin-bottom: 50px !important; }or I can also let it go right now, since it’s your site and everything. I can just get a little obsessed.
