Twenty Fourteen theme, broken?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi!

    We are using the theme Twenty Fourteen and have been a bit lazy with posts on our blog lately but we started again yesterday, and now our layout seems to be all over the place and we’ve checked in multiple browsers. The right widgets sidebar is overlapping the featured posts, and the left sidebar is missing completely from the home page. On top of this, some of our most recent posts are out of order and appearing at the bottom of the page. All the other pages appear fine, just not the home page. I’m thinking it may be a problem with overloading the theme or something? Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you :)

    Hi there,

    There was some stray HTML code in one of your recent posts causing the layout issue. I went ahead to remove the following from the end of “Snowmobiling, Skiing, Stargazing & Sleeping Sami Style!” in order to fix things up:

    </div>

    Stray HTML usually ends up in posts after copying/pasting text from a text editor or elsewhere on the web. You can usually avoid this by used the paste as plain text button.

    In case this comes up again, we also have the following guidance to help you troubleshoot:

    Let me know if that’s helpful or if you have any questions.

    Thank you! We did have problems with the div tags in that post mucking up the spaces between photographs and couldn’t work out why, and removed them, but clearly I missed one. Thanks for the heads up, will be sure to note that down in the future! :)

    You’re most welcome! We’re right here if extra questions come up too. :)
