I’m trying to make this website- I’ve installed the above theme. I sort of expected to have a load of options to edit things such as text sizes, font, colours etc, but I can’t.
I don’t want an image that is about 120% of the screen you need to scroll away before you actually get to any site content.
I want to add site content just by clicking in a box, and typing what I want to be there, adding links and small images etc which I can position by drag and drop. I don’t want to learn HTML.
Is there a word-press feature/addon/whatever you’re calling it that just lets me build a website like making a page on Microsoft Publisher? Is there some way to change the sizes of things in these themes? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Checking on your website, it appears that you are using a self-hosted version of WordPress rather than the WordPress.com website which this forum represents.
To know more the difference between .com and .org, you may go to this article: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
For your current needs, you may reach out to their alternative forum here: https://wordpress.org/support/
Alternatively, you can also reach out to your hosting provider if a further concern arises.
Hope this helps!

Yup, .org won’t install on my PC. No idea why, to find out I have to learn to code apparently.
I get this far:
(Optional) Find and rename wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php, then edit the file (see Editing wp-config.php) and add your database information.
Which turns out, isn’t optional at all. Its very necessary and makes the erroneous assumption that I’d know what the hell “database information” pertains to.

Is there a VERY BASIC tutorial which I can follow which doesn’t break everything down to 5 steps that assume I actually know the difference between a FTP or server and could make a choice based on those requirements? Literally,
1. Go to address xxxxxx
2. Press button xxxx
3. Click go.Something like that.

Hi. as @donangeles30 mentioned, unfortunately you’re in the wrong Forum. You could try the WP.org Forum for self-hosted sites here: https://wordpress.org/support/ but if I were you, I’d go directly to the source and ask Bluehost for help here: https://www.bluehost.com/wordpress
Just scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on ‘Support’. Then click on the ‘WordPress’ icon. Underneath that, there’s also a ‘Contact’ link that will take you to their 24/7 chat and phone help options.
Hope this helps.

But its wordpress I’m trying to use/install isn’t it? Bluehost didn’t make wordpress impossible to install.
Just to clarify all this- am I right to think wordpress.org is some sort of downloadable program I run on my PC, and build pages on? Then it somehow connects to my website and I need settings of some sort to make it do that?
If so, how do I install this program- the “famous 5 minute install” has so far taken 3 days

Hi there,
Let me try and clear the confusion.
Just to clarify all this- am I right to think wordpress.org is some sort of downloadable program I run on my PC, and build pages on?
The WordPress software found on WordPress.org can be downloaded and installed locally on your computer, but you can also install it on a hosting provider like Bluehost and create your site. Also, WordPress.com is a hosting provider much like Bluehost, but we specialize in only hosting and maintaining WordPress sites. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:
Is there a word-press feature/addon/whatever you’re calling it that just lets me build a website like making a page on Microsoft Publisher? Is there some way to change the sizes of things in these themes?
Judging by what you’re describing here, you’re looking for a page builder plugin and you can find lots of them in the official WordPress.org plugin repository:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/page-builder/
If you need further help with your site, the best place to ask questions is the WordPress.org forums:
