Twenty Seventeen featured image size on a post

    Hi! I’m using twenty seventeen and having problems with the featured image for my posts. The images in the body of the post are 600 x 600 pixels and I would like to have the featured image at the same width. On some occasions, when I select the featured image and re-scale it to 600 x 600 this is exactly what I get on the post: the featured image is the same width of text and other images in the body of the post:

    However, on other occasions, no matter what size I select for the featured image, on the post itself this image is the whole width of the screen and the 600 x 600 size only means that it is very pixelated. Could anyone please help me to get the featured image always at 600 x 600 and not the full width of the screen (this link has a larger size to overcome the pixilation):
