Twenty Seventeen: how can I use both columns for content?
-
Hi
I’m using Twenty Seventeen at the moment. I would like to be able to use both columns on pages for content, not the left one for the title and the right one for the content (which I can switch to in customizer -> theme options).
Is that possible?
Thank you :-)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If possible also allowing me to use the whole width of the page (= same width I’m using in the footer).

[It would be great to know before next Wednesday if this is possible or if we have to use another template.]

I am trying to the same thing, or somewhat similar, I want 2 vertical columns: the left one will have content, and the right one will have search, facebook posts, twitter posts, blog roll, etc…
I can’t seem to figure out how to make a 2 vertical column layout appear?

Hi techjunkie2017
You seem to have figured it out by now? At least https://techjunkie2017.wordpress.com looks like you describe to me.

Hi there,
This is not possible on the WordPress.com version of twentyseventeen. The closest you can get is by using pullquotes, which will show in the opposite column from your main post content.
See under “Pullquotes” here: https://wordpress.com/theme/twentyseventeen
What you see on @techjunkie2017’s site is a widget sidebar. That can be enabled by adding any widget to the Blog Sidebar area under Widgets in the Customizer, but that sidebar can only contain widgets, not post content. That sidebar appears as long as you have widgets added to it – it’s completely separate from the 1 or 2-column layout setting.
