Twenty Seventeen – Sound for Video

  So with the Twenty Seventeen theme, is there any way to make the video in the header media have sound/volume?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi @alexander2001ex,

  There is no way to make the video in the header have sound, as it is meant to be a visual element, not a full-fledged video.

  You can, however, add audio to your site separately – see this Support page for a list of options.

  Alex, there are quite a few sites out there purporting to show how to changed the default “muted” selection on the video to allow audio. I haven’t tried them myself, though am planning to… make sure that you create a child theme first so any mistakes will be easily reversible.

  I’d love for the developers of 2017 to know that I would gladly pay 20 bucks for a plug-in that allows me to change that default at the touch of a button. I’m setting up a voiceover website and really wanted the video as a way of presenting audio.
