Twenty Seventeen Theme and Formatting Questions

Hi, I was having trouble customizing a theme for my website. I’m not sure if I need a pro plan, or it’s just not possible. The problem is this: on my website: https://songtower.wordpress.com/ if you scroll down a little, there is a huge blank space on the left side, and it looks useless and is pushing my actual text to the right. Is there a way to get rid of this? What is that section even supposed to be used for? The theme is called Twenty Seventeen.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

That white space is just a default part of the theme’s layout – your Front Page is set to display content in two columns.

To change that to a one-column layout, you should go to My Sites > Appearance > Customize > Theme options.

Under the “Page Layout”, select the “One Column” option and save changes. You can find more detailed instructions here:
    https://wordpress.com/theme/twentyseventeen

Keep in mind that this is a global setting. It will affect all pages, search results, and archives.

    I hope this helps! :)
