Twenty-Seventeen Theme Custom Menu is Unusable

I spent an afternoon trying to create sub-pages that appear on the drop down from my main menu. I tried the drag and drop in the customizer. It’s so buggy that only once in a dozen tries would a page save as a submenu but I never could get more than one submenu item. I’d drag it into position and it wold simply drop iteself to the bottom. Sometimes even when the page appears inserted below a main parent page it shows up as a main menu item. I tried the dash board to edit a page to give it a parent attribution. Once that worked but I could never repeat it. What can I possibly try? or is this theme simply broken and I should deep-six it?

I have a similar problem. I created the menus I want in twenty seventeen a couple of months ago. It all worked nicely.

Then I added a page for a new project I’m working on. I need to put a link on the home page. I have added it in the menu, but it does not show up. I tried creating a new menu with the new link, and placing it on the Top Menu.

The settings all look right, but the link I want still doesn’t show up on the Top Menu on the home page. It does show up on other pages, but not the home page.

I think the issue may be on the home page itself, which only shows the original top menu for some reason.

The theme I am using is Twenty Seventeen, and the site is writtenword.ca
