Could you give me more details about this one-column layout in Twenty-Seventeen? Are you trying simply to remove the widgets section?
Also, could you give me a link to your website where you’re using Twenty Seventeen? The website above has activated another theme.

The easier solution –
Go to Pages > Edit Page.
Under Page Attributes, select ‘One Column’, or ‘one column, no sidebar’ from the Template drop-down.The CSS method –
