Twenty sixteen and Markdown

Hi all,
On my website I have the last version WP with the Twenty sixteen theme. I also installed the Jetpack plugin in order to have the markdown syntax.
I have two problems with the markdown.
The first is with the Iist indentation that doesn’t seam to work. I tried to use 4 spaces with no result. Also ‘*’ is not recognize as a list indicator.
The second problem is with tables. They works but I was not able to used the alignment feature with ‘:’.
Is it a problem or is it me who did a mistake?
