  Is it not possible to make a post gallery with remote images?

  The WP gallery feature works with images uploaded to your blog.

  If what you’re interested in is just a grid of images in a post or a page, you can insert suitably sized individual images via URL, but using images hosted elsewhere isn’t best practice: you get fewer options for handling the images, you may have sizing issues in bad browser versions, and you risk a no show in case the other site is down or in case an image is relocated or removed.

  I’m not a wp expert but I think it’s not simple to understand to wp newbie why everywhere you can use url (image, video, music, …) and in gallery (that is a set of images) not.
