Twenty Thirteen lacks post format options

Hi, can anyone tell me how to find the post format options that are supposed to be at the top of my post editing pages? I did look it up on the forum, but my post editing pages doesn’t look like what they describe.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What does your post editing page look like, then?

It has 6 boxes to click on: Edit, View Page, Get Shortlink, Add Media, Add Poll, Add Contact Form. Beneath those is the usual task bar for font/text editing.

The Post formats Module is a completely separate module.
If you don’t see it anywhere on the Editing page then click the Screen Options tab at the top right of the window and check the box for Formats. You will probably see it appear either to the right below the publish module or under the Editing screen.

OH! I just found it! I hadn’t actually posted anything on the front page yet, and when I went to, there was the formatting section :). It doesn’t show up on the other sections. Sorry to waste your time!

I did search the support docs, I noted that in my initial post. I spent quite some time reading different posts on the topic. I didn’t see information anywhere that told me that what I was looking for was on the front page only. It’s a learning curve issue, I’m not trying to bother anyone. There is clearly some fundamental information that is being assumed, that I don’t quite get about this stuff. The “Thanks in advance” statement gives me the uneasy feeling that I shouldn’t ask questions…and given that I recently bought the bundle that includes some kind of email support that I have no idea how to access, it’s a bit disheartening.

Sorry, you mentioned you searched the forums. :) The Support site is packed with information and a great search box. Best place to start for any question.
If you have the Premium bundle, did you try posting on the Contact Support form? It might be closed or redirect to the forums right now because of the Staff meetup, but you can also reach them at support@wordpress.com if the form doesn’t work.
Also, if you want a refresher, this is also a great resource http://learn.wordpress.com/

Thank you, I’ll go through the learn.wordpress info. Glad to know about the Contact Support form, I’ve read so much information in the last 5 days that I didn’t even notice it there :). I usually check both the forums and Support pages for things, sometimes other people grappling with stuff have creative ideas! Well, back to trying to figure out what theme to settle into. Thought I had it, but photos don’t look great in it :(
