Is there no Share This Post (say by email) widget for this theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
This is not a theme dependent issue. What I post below applies to all b logs here and has nothing whatsoever to do with the themes they are wearing. Themes are just “skins” that can be easily and quickly changed.
You can set up email subscriptions here > Appearance > Widgets > Follow Blog Widgets by using this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/
If you would like a follow button to appear on the bottom right hand corner of your site for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts go to > Settings > Reading and scroll down to Follower Settings:
These settings change emails sent from your blog to followers.
Logged out users __ Show follow button to logged out users.Checking this will present a follow button to logged out users in the bottom corner of their screen.
You can create a Page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ and place a contact form on it for private communication with your visitors, or for opting into receiving a newsletter for example. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/
For a WordPress.COM blog you can create a sign up page on MailChimp directly and simply link to it. Here’s their instructions http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-signup-form-to-your-wordpress-blog (Note: We cannot use the plugin on any WordPress.COM blog so be clear on that please.)

Hi timethief. The issue isn’t for followers, necessarily; it’s for anyone who chances on the post to just be able to email it somewhere (to self of other). The first link you’ve provided promised help, but didn’t come through: in my Settings list, Sharing does not appear as an option!
-
Ach! self or other, that is.
My Settings include the following options:
Account, Password, Security, Public Profile, Notifications, Billing History. That’s it. -
Hey, found it!
I found the option on a post Edit (working) page (i.e. right on the site).
YAY -
