Twenty Twelve Theme Post Format
-
My posts are essentially images, and I’m using the Twenty Twelve theme, so apparently that means when I schedule I a post it automatically changes the post format to “Image” even though I had “Standard” selected when I created the post. Is there a way to get Twenty Twelve to stop assuming and just post it in the format I want, or do I have to edit and fix it every time?

Hi,
On a test site with the Twenty Twelve theme activated, the same thing that you report happened on two new posts set to standard format before publishing. Each time, when the post was published the format switched to image. Seems like a glitch to me. I’ll tag the topic for staff attention.

Hi there,
This is not a theme issue, but I found an existing bug report of this happening with the editor. The circumstances appear to be very specific, though.
From my testing it appears the steps that trigger this is select a post format, add an image, publish. If you add an image and only them select the post format it does not happen. Can you please check this and confirm for me?
Can you also please confirm if the test posts you made contained only images, or did they contain other content as well?
Thanks,

@ kokkieh,
In my tests, the post format only changes from standard (default) to image automatically when the post contains a single image and no text. The following combinations did not result in the format switch:
- text only
- two images, no text
- one image and text
- two images and text

Thanks. That confirms what I observed as well. I’ve added that info to the existing bug report, and some devs are looking into it already.
