The title of the page, Home, is showing the same content in a column on the same page. Also how long does it take WP to verify domain with code. I’ve been waiting 24 hours. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

The title of the page, Home, is showing the same content in a column on the same page.

Did you want to hide the “Home” text from the homepage? Would you be comfortable switching to a newer theme that supports Full Site Editing?

I ask because the Twenty Twenty theme does not have the option to remove the page title without using custom CSS code, which is possible with the WordPress.com Premium plan or higher. With themes that support Full Site Editing, it is possible to hide/remove the page title without needing to upgrade or use any CSS code.

If you’d like to stick to the Twenty Twenty theme and use custom CSS code to hide it, please upgrade below and let us know.

Alternatively, if you switch to another theme that supports Full Site Editing, let us know, and we’ll help you with the specific steps. Note that you can access live chat or priority email support with an annual Premium plan or higher.

Also how long does it take WP to verify domain with code. I’ve been waiting 24 hours.

I don’t see any domains registered on this WordPress.com account. Did you register the domain on a different account? Please share the full domain name so that we can look it up on our end.

    Thanks!

Thanks I don’t want to hide the page title ‘HOME’. I want to remove the other text after ‘HOME’, which is an error. The other pages do not have this. Only the HOME page. how can I remove it?

Domain: I do not have a domain registered yet. When I tried to verify that I own the domain with the code from Godaddy, the page does not move after I click ‘Connect domain button’ and enter verification code.

UPDATE now I see that the page goes to the pay page, great!

  • Hey there,

Many thanks for reaching back out.

To remove that altogether, you would need CSS and the premium plan as this theme is configured to show content under the homepage.

The excerpt field on the right hand side, will overwrite this text, but content will always be present.

Domain: I do not have a domain registered yet. When I tried to verify that I own the domain with the code from Godaddy, the page does not move after I click ‘Connect domain button’ and enter verification code.

It sounds like you perhaps are transferring the domain, instead of connecting it – and this is because of the mention of a verification code.

The domain can be connected as per these steps: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

To note, a paid plan would be needed in order to set a custom primary domain, so if CSS is required, the premium plan may be a viable option for you.

    I hope this helps.
