Twentyfourteen Theme Not Displaying Sidebar

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

Just switched my business website to the Twentyfourteen theme to try it out. It’s really important that I have a sidebar menu as the only menu on my homepage. When I added items to the sidebar widget, they appear either below the homepage (footer area) or not at all. Also, I want to remove the banner menu that runs across the top of the page.

    Please help!

    Thanks,
    Ellie

    hi,

For your theme related questions, you can post a ticket at:
    https://wordpress.org/support/theme/twentyfourteen

By the way, your website is hosted at COGECO PEER 1, not WordPress.com.

We’re able to help only with websites hosted on WordPress.com.

To clear up any confusion, there are 2 versions of WordPress. WordPress.com is a managed environment different from using the open source WordPress installation. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two, different entities.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You could look in this forum; perhaps someone there has experienced something similar:
    https://wordpress.org/support/

You’ll need a free WordPress.org account to post – if you don’t already have one, you can register here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/register.php

Your hosting provider customer support may also be able to help you.

    Hope this helps
