twentyfourteen- way to shorten post display

  Every post I have posted shows in it’s entirety.
  Is there a way to have the post only display as, say, the first few lines, with a read more button, as I will have a high volume of posts and I dont want people to be scrolling forever.

  Alternatively, is there a way to make my category pages view as a grid or similar?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  TwentyFourteen does not offer a grid style layout for archives, but you might try one of the themes in this list instead:
