Twentyseventeen: featured image not showing in feeds

  Hi

  My blog posts have a featured image, which works fine on the single posts, the front page and https://manuschwendener.ch/blog.

  I offer RSS feed and subscription by email – both only show text when I publish a new post.

  On …/wp-admin/options-reading.php, I want to keep “For each article in a feed, show summary” (not: show full text”), but I’d like the featured image to be included in the RSS and email feeds.

  Also note that you have assigned too many categories/tags for the posts to be displayed in the Reader and on the WordPress.COM Topics pages.

  Have you consulted that support doc? Please make sure that you do.

  You need to edit the existing posts and remove the excess tags/categories from your posts.

  The post appeared fine in the RSS and email feeds, just without the featured picture.

  Or rather: without any picture.

  I used Twentyeleven before switching to Twentyseventeen and am quite sure that there was a picture included in the feeds.

  Did you subscribe yourself and receive the post without the featured image in it?

  Thanks for confirming that. Please be patient while waiting for Staff as it’s a weekend and fewer are available than on a week day.

  I’m using feedly and I’m subcribed with two email addresses.

  Ok, that looks good, thank you.

  I’ll talk to feedly then.

  (And it seems that Twentyeleven didn’t send pictures to the email subscribers, either. So I might switch to ‘show full text’ instead of ‘show summary’ for feeds.)

  Yeah I don’t know if summary emails show images at all. Best wishes!
