twentysixteen, drop-menu outside browser window
-
I noticed that this theme changes its appearance slightly depending on the screen size. Wonderful. However, on my monitor with 1650×1050 resolution, the drop-menu on the leftest menu topic is partially outside the browser window and therefore, most of the content is not readable.
Is this a flaw of this theme and I have to live with it or can it be adjusted?

Hi there,
Due to the way the theme is designed, it doesn’t work well with short words being used as the first menu item if that menu item has a drop down. The theme needs more space to display the drop down.
If you’re open to rearranging your menu, you could try moving a longer word to the front, or adding another link (like Home) to the front of the menu.

yes, thanks, this seems an easy way out. The drop-menu appears to be hooked to the downwards arrow behind the title. Is there a way to contact the designer to correct the glitch permanently?

Is there a way to contact the designer
The TwentySixteen theme is one of the “default themes” that comes from the WordPress.org project:
It is designed and built by the community there. Changes to the theme are initiated within the WordPress.org community and then when updates are released to fix bugs, we implement those updates here on WordPress.com.
The best way to have this changed on WordPress.com would be to request that the change be considered via the WordPress.org site.

Thanks. And how would I do this? They didn’t let me in on wordpress.org. Where would I lodge such a request?

You’ll need to create a separate account over on the WordPress.org site. They have some information about submitting bugs to their community developers here.
Keep in mind that WordPress.com is a separate entity from WordPress.org. If you need help with the process, you’ll want to connect with the WordPress.org community for assistance.

Thanks for the info. I had not realised the strong separation.
Thanks for your help. I see how I go.
