So I embed Twitter a lot using the “Add Media” button and picking which post I want to use and I’ve never had a problem.
But recently, when I do this, it posts the link, but it shows up on the page as a link and not the Twitter post. Does anyone know why this is happening? I haven’t done anything new or different, I used it just yesterday with no problems. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can display your tweets by pasting the link to the tweet like:
https://twitter.com/BenFan71/status/647307385732640768You can get this link by clicking on the date link in your tweets.
Add Media may be applying the additional processing that may be applicable for real media like photos and videos. Tweets are not really media files. So this may be why the links are displayed.
However you don’t have to worry about this and paste the tweet links to embed tweets. You can check this support guide for more info: https://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/twitter-embeds/

There appears to be an issue with the way the tweets are automatically rendered.
You can get around the issue by wrapping the tweet in a shortcode e.g.
