Twitter Blackbird Pie WordPress integration not working
-
I followed the instructions from this page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter-blackbird-pie/ to show a tweet on a blog post.
I clicked the timestamp, got the tweet’s permalink (http://twitter.com/#!/IntelDevTools/status/80317441443512321) and pasted it on an empty line in the editor as instructed. However, when I previewed the blog post, the link I had pasted appeared as a link and not a tweet.
Does anyone know what I have done wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you have not been able to resolve this issue by following the instruction I suggest that you contact Staff http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Make sure the link is on its own line and does not appear as an active link, i.e.underlined and clickable. If it does, then use the “Unlink” button in the visual editor to remove the link, update your post and then see if it doesn’t show up.

Thanks for the help both of you. I have already tried “unlinking” it and it was definitely on a line by itself – neither helped T_T. Therefore I shall contact support as timethief suggested.

I’ve got the solution at last – the editor had helpfully put some HTML formatting on either side of the tweet link. Rather stupidly, I didn’t think to check in the HTML editor that the link was on a line by itself, just the visual editor.
Anyway, it’s fixed now. Thanks for your time, people. And thanks to the happiness engineers who pointed out the solution :D

Hi, I’m using the Twitter BlackBird Pie feature for the first time and I can’t get it working. When I click to preview my post, it only shows as a URL. I followed the instructions and made sure that auto-embed is enabled in my media settings. I’ve tried both solutions in this forum and checked that the status link was on the same line in the HTML editor as well as the visual editor; it’s one line in both editors. Any suggestions or should I just contact support? Thanks!

There can’t be ANY formatting whatsoever. No P tags around it or anything. Double-check in the HTML tab and remove those tags if they appear.

You’re welcome. It caught me too: I didn’t put any formatting in, but didn’t realize the theme itself was putting P tags around it. Those have to go.

Yep, that’s what broke it in the first place for me (thus leading me to create this thread). WordPress support told me to remove formatting (I hadn’t noticed there was any…) and it worked then.
For future viewers of the thread, in case I wasn’t clear enough last time,[strong]if Tweets using Twitter Blackbird pie do not show up as tweets, then make sure the link is on a line by itself, with no formatting at all, including in the HTML editor[/strong]
