  Just want to put a Twitter button on the main page so that viewers ca click the little birdie and go to my Twitter site. Don’t understand the instructions in ‘help’

  You can easily add the twitter sharing button to your site.
  You can follow the document to know more about twitter: https://wordpress.com/support/twitter/

  You have option to mark on which page you want to display the sharing buttons.

  Thanks, I added sharing button but what I really also want is that button that you click that takes you to my Twitter, Facebook page , etc
