Twitter handle mix-up
-
I changed my Twitter connection over to a new account. I’ve changed the Twitter connection and the setting to show the new handle when someone shares the link on Twitter. However, it still shows up as the old handle which is creating problems. I’ve tried completely disconnecting, clearing browsing history, etc. but nothing has worked. Most of the forums I found appeared to need staff intervention. I would appreciate any assistance!

Hi there!
Could you tell me when you adjusted your Twitter handle? Was it before or after your latest post?
Also, are you experiencing the same issue when visitors use your sharing buttons, as well as your automatic posting to Twitter via Publicize?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

I should clarify that I only have the “mistaken identity” problem when visitors tweet a post. When I publish a post it does link to the correct Twitter account.
I first adjusted the handle shown when a post is shared a couple of posts ago. Unfortunately I assumed that fixed the issue but didn’t check. Last night someone tweeted a link and it again showed up as @sweetlilme03.
So this morning, prior to sending my inquiry I disconnected everything and reconnected using @pndrtheirrlevnt. When I checked, it still showed @sweetlilme03 when a visitor shares via the button.
Thanks for the quick reply!

Hello again!
Thanks very much for the details. That was helpful.
I removed your Twitter sharing button, and cleared away your Twitter handle. Then, I added the button back, and also filled in the Twitter handle you requested: pndrtheirrlevnt. Then, I saved those changes.
I tried the sharing button on your latest post, and it’s working great for me now.
Would you give it a try as well? Thanks a bunch!
