Twitter link is messing with image of content!!!

When I click on the link on Twitter it shows one of my poem’s stanzas in a straight line that veers out of sight on the phone screen. How do I fix this?

  • Hi there,

What is the URL of the site you are needing help with? The only site I see under your @taylordrake538 WordPress.com account when I check on our end is this blog you have not published on since 2015: https://pulpczar.wordpress.com/

Is it possible you created your site under a different login?  Is it the case that you are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead?
Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look once we know the correct URL, thanks!

That’s the site, I just published for the first time in 5 years. The problem only happens on my mobile phone. I clicked the same link on my laptop and it worked fine.

Look at this link on a smart phone and you will see what I’m talking about. This is only happening on Twitter by the way.

  • Hi there,

I’m not able to replicate it on my end using my phone. It is displayed correctly.

Please share a screenshot of what you’re seeing so I can better troubleshoot this. Here’s how to take a screenshot:

Also, what phone are you using and what OS version?

I have an Android, a Google pixel 3. I’ll email the image, I don’t see a button to upload images.

rootjosh, the problem is still on going, I figured out how to post the picture.

  • Hey taylordrake538, sorry about that.

I was also able to duplicate the issue on my iPhone. I think it must depend on screen size.

    – You have AMP enabled. This is by default, but you can disable it here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/amp-accelerated-mobile-pages/

    – You’re using the verse block. The main feature here is that you’re in control of line breaks and what not. But it also gets a bit more sophisticated on phone screens and will wrap lines for you if needed

    – AMP, however, strips the extra fluffiness we add to the verse block. So it’s back to you’re in total control of the line breaks — and in this case, the lines run right off the screen

A few options (you can pick which one suits you best!)

    – Disable AMP. Old links might not work, but new ones will going forward

    OR

    – Use paragraphs instead of verse blocks. You can change colors as needed, and use shift+enter to make line breaks, but it will also wrap on a small screen, even with AMP enabled

    OR

    – Keep AMP and keep the Verse Blocks, but (if you’re willing) add more line breaks so that it’ll all fit even if the screen is smaller

Does that make sense? If you need more help, let us know which option you’re leaning toward, along with the questions you have.
