Twitter linked to my posting
-
I have just discovered one of my postings is online linked to someone’s Twitter account. I had a look and the Twitter account is just full of other people’s links, added constantly it seems. There is no “normal” status updates, just links. I assume it is a spam account but does that affect me in any way because of the link to my posting? And if it is a spam account what do they gain from having my link? I don’t understand, because it would send people to me wouldn’t it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you think it’s a Twitter spam account then please report it to Twitter staff.

Can i do that even though i haven’t got an account on Twitter? I think it’s definitely a spam account as whoever it is is adding other peoples links every few minutes.

I just had a look on the link you gave, and no i can’t report it without an account. That’s annoying as people will click on the post thinking it’s mine as it has my blog name in the title. Thanks anyway.

Id someone is impersonating you on Twitter or if they are spammers it takes only a few moments to set up a Twitter account and report them.

No they’re not impersonating me, I was thinking of setting up an account anyway…so i might just do that. Thank you for your time.

If someone just put a link up to one of your posts, that does not hurt you in any way. Twitter and Google recently announced that, in fact, it helps your pagerank.

Not even if it’s obviously a spam account?? It’s not as if someone put a link up and said “take a look at this”, this person just adds loads and loads of links, no normal updates, just links, one after the other. I was concerned that it would affect my blog in some way if it’s spam.
