Twitter posting to my blog

    I’ve tried to contact Twitter about this problem as well, but I have disconnected my Twitter account from my blog because every Tweet I make posts as a blog entry which then posts as a Tweet, which then again posts as a blog entry and then as a Tweet, etc. Since disconnecting my Twitter account from my blog, the ongoing cycle has stopped, but my Tweets will still post as a blog entry which posts as a Tweet (it just stops there instead of keeping going). As a result, my blog is filled with Tweets rather than constructed bog entries. I don’t really know what to do. I mentioned that I tried to contact Twitter about the problem, but I’m having difficulties with that as well.
    I’m to the point where I’m considering deleting me blog, though I’d really rather not do that because of the audience I’ve built up.

    Hi there, it looks like you’ve got an IFTTT applet activated that may be causing this issue. Did you try deactivating it on IFTTT?

    I’m not even certain I have IFTTT. I just tried going to it and logging in and it didn’t recognize any of my email addresses that I would have used for it. I remember a friend telling me about it about a year ago, but I didn’t think that I had done anything with it, and that I can’t log into the website makes me think I probably didn’t do anything with it….though I’m sure I’m probably missing something very obvious .

    So, it appears there is an IFTTT applet running.

    Until you get the IFTTT issue resolved you can disconnect your WordPressdotcom from publicizing to twitter so your tweet won’t be posted twice. https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#twitter

    You can also go into your twitter account settings and remove WordPress.com as an approved app, but that won’t stop WordPressdotcom from trying to publicize the tweet published on your site back to twitter.
