Twitter posting wrong page

I have a page that I update frequently, and that I want to tweet the updates to when I do. However, when I update the page and try to tweet the updated page, the *original* page keeps showing up in twitter. I’ll give an example.

In the first version of the page, I had this content:

“Freakonomics, by Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt”

I tweeted this, and everything was fine. Now today I changed the content of that page to:

“The Girl On The Train, by Paula Hawkins

Thank You For Arguing, by Jay Heinrich”

However, when I try to tweet this updated page, twitter keeps showing the page with the content on the *original* page. I hope that makes sense. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thank you for any help!

  • Hi there. Do you refer to the summary displayed with your tweet?

I’m just guessing here, but Twitter probably caches the summary with the first tweet, so if you tweet the same link again it just fetches the summary from the cache rather than from the page itself. Something similar happens on Facebook.

If that is the issue, I don’t think you’ll be able to do anything about it as the problem is on Twitter’s side. I suggest you try contacting their support to confirm whether this is the problem or not.

That must be it. Thanks for the help!
