Twitter sharing
-
I have recently linked my personal Twitter page to my WordPress website. However, for privacy reasons, I decided to create a new Twitter for my blog only. Therefore I unlinked my Twitter from WordPress (and I unlinked WordPress on my personal Twitter privacy settings page). I found out that when non-Wordpress users fill in their email to follow my blog, a black window (powered by WordPress.com) appears and directly links to my personal Twitter page which I had deleted / unlinked earlier. What am I doing wrong? Or is this just a bug?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m thinking that you might still have your old/deleted Twitter account linked in your Publicize settings. Check out this article to see if it might help you. If you have your old Twitter account listed there, go ahead and change it to your new account, and see if that makes a difference. There may be someone else along to help you more, if this doesn’t fix your problem.

Thanks for responding! I have checked my Publicize settings and my old/deleted Twitter account wasn’t linked to my WordPress. The button to my Twitter page, however, was still visible. So I did the following: linked the old Twitter and deleted it once again. Still, no change in the black follow window that pops up.

If the connection between Twitter and WordPress.com gets disconnected for some reason follow these steps http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-twitter
Please note that reconnecting Publicize with Twitter and/or Facebook does not re-publicize missed posts, but it will work for future posts.

Thanks for your help, but that’s not the problem here.
This is the black window that pops up after someone subscribes to your blog. And right at the bottom, it shows links to your connected Twitter account(s) and Facebook, right? Now, I have unlinked my personal Twitter account but it still appears on this window. How can I undo that?
Much appreciated.

I see something that will get your blog suspended.

Please read the grounds for suspension of free hosted WordPress.com blog on which no blogger initiated advertising, no paid or sponsored content, banners, etc, are allowed:

Hi there – I see what you mean. Could you please confirm that only @Niejan_ is the Twitter account you’d like to remain connected to your site, and I’ll see what we can do to get this fixed up? Thanks.
-
Hi. Thanks for the quick response. Yes, @Niejan_ is the only Twitter account I’d like to remain connected with the site. Thank you.
-
Thanks for confirming. I’ve brought this to our developers to have a look and will keep you posted here.
-
Could you let me know if you’ve published any posts since you made the change to your Twitter account?
-
I have published a few pages and some posts since the change.
Thank you for all the help. -

I just wanted to let you know that the old Twitter name has been disconnected from your account, and is no longer showing after subscribing:

Our developers are also working on the underlying cause of this issue to prevent it from happening again. Thanks again for reporting it.
