Twitter Timeline Widget
-
I just added the Twitter timeline to my blog (www.malcolmscorner.wordpress.coIm) but there is no scroll bar. Can you please tell me how to add the scroll bar as I have not checked the box to block it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve been using the Twitter timeline for a while now and the scroll bar was working fine but it’s recently disappeared. None of the settings have been changed but the scroll bar has gone.

@ijcox-you are not using the timeline widget, but the old twitter widget. You’ll need to switch.
@malcolmg11-even when the “No Scrollbar” box is checked, you should be able to put your cursor inside the widget and scroll within it, but for some reason this is not working with your timeline widget, not in Chrome 29 and not in FF 24.
I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to this discussion using the subscribe link in the sidebar if you haven’t already so that you will see their reply. Also, thanks for being patient while waiting as Staff have been at a meetup and there is a backlog of forum posts for their attention and waiting time may be a bit longer than usual.

I can assure you I am using the Twitter Timeline widget via jetpac. I’m using it across 3 sites with different templates but all have the same problem; no scroll bar.
-
@ijcox – I initially assumed you were referring to the widget displaying on technologyrepublic.wordpress.com/ Thanks for confirming that you are using jetpack on standalone WordPress installs.
Staff have requested that folks with Jetpack issues post their questions to the existing Jetpack forum at WordPress.org, since it would be easier to keep support focused in one place as much as possible: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack

Hi,
@malcolmg11 — in your case, the widget is set to show 4 tweets, so it is showing only four tweets. No need for the scrollbar. If you set it to 0, it’ll display a scrollbar and allow users to scroll through additional tweets.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or need anything else.
@ijcox – As @justjennifer mentioned, please do post to the Jetpack forums. While similar, the codebase is different between WordPress.com and Jetpack, so our team there is best suited to answer Jetpack questions.
Thanks!

Thanks BJ-
/headdeskNo need for scrollbar to appear, if you don’t want it to, as I noted above. When you’ve entered “0” in the number of tweets, as kraftbj mentioned, if anyone puts their cursor into the widget area and scrolls, the widget will scroll along with it.

kraftby, thank you. That get’s me the scrollbar but I would still like to display four or five tweets rather than one as at present. There must be a way to do this as I recall seeing it on some other sites.

Correct – increase the 100px value to something more along the lines of what you would like (screenshot: https://cloudup.com/coQaBP5ktKO ).
There isn’t an option to “show 5 tweets” before the need to scroll, but increasing the height should get you there.
Thanks JenT

Thank you. I had tried to increase the height to 200 but with no effect but following your reply I increased it to 400 and that did the trick. I appreciate the prompt response.
