Twitter timeline widget no longer displaying tweets

  Hello all: I just noticed today that the Twitter timeline (sidebar) widget no longer displays individual tweets, just a rather uninviting “my tweets” link to my Twitter account. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on and how to fix?

  Update: weirdly, this issue seems to be specific to Safari for macOS…the widget is working correctly on Chrome. Why on earth would that be the case? I experimented with changing the widget theme but it made no difference: in fact there was no visible change. Any input appreciated

  Further update: emptying the cache does not fix the issue

  Further update: after some experimentation, I tracked down the culprit. It was, oddly, a Safari extension for the Internet Wayback Machine. Once disabled and removed, tweets began to display again correctly. It wasn’t even a particularly useful extension!
