Twitter timeline widget no longer working

  Hi

  Here’s my site: https://artisinitiative.org/

  Up until recently I had a twitter timeline widget on the left handside of the home page but this stopped working. I thought this might be something to do with the Widget ID so I went onto my twitter account and discovered that Twitter have changed their settings so it is no longer possible to get a twitter widget id – you have to use their https://publish.twitter.com/# site. When I use this tool however, the feed does not display properly.

  This is the code it spits out:
  Tweets by ARTISinitiative <script async src=’//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js’ charset=’utf-8′></script>

  Any ideas on what’s gone wrong and how to fix it?

  I’m having this same issue! From what I’ve read, Twitter should generate a URL after creating the widget, and the ID is supposed to be found in the URL (according to http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/hunter-webcms/learning/tutorials/how-do-i-find-my-twitter-widget-id). But the URL I’m seeing is:

  https://publish.twitter.com/#

  What am I missing?

  The Twitter widget on your site is working for me, so this is more likely a browser issue. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, and try disabling any ad-blocker or anti-virus extensions in your browser, as those can sometimes block the widget from displaying.

  Judging by the screen shots on the page you link to that tutorial is over two years old, as Twitter’s interface does not look like that at all anymore. Twitter changed how the widget works about a month ago, so that tutorial is incredibly outdated. Also note that most tutorials you’ll find online doesn’t work with WordPress.com, only for self-hosted WordPress.org sites.

  Thanks kokkieh. I realized it is an issue with Jetpack that still needs to be resolved. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/twitter-no-longer-allows-the-creation-of-a-twitter-id

  Ah, okay. I think we’re still working on adding the new widget to Jetpack. Meanwhile, if you create a search widget in Twitter using your username, that will still give you a widget ID which you can use in the old widget.

  could you please help me?

  I falowed the users manual of

  to reate twitter widget, but the widget is not showing into my twitter timeline, just to an error search on twitter.
  What could be the problem? Help please! :(

  I can see the Twitter widget on both your sites. If they are not working for you, it’s most likely a browser extension that’s blocking them. Ad-blockers and anti-virus extensions are known to block the Twitter widges, so try disabling those if you have them.
