Twitter widget does not show timeline – Share button doesn't show at all

  I’ve been trying to work this out for a couple weeks now. I’ve tried to add a new widget from Twitter and I’ve made sure that I’ve set up sharing between my blog and Twitter.

  My timeline doesn’t show up – although the widget does seem to be there in the sidebar. The Twitter share button doesn’t show up under posts, nor does the Facebook share button.

  I’ve never had these problems before and am very frustrated. The social network aspect is important for my blog. I’s hate to think of moving somewhere else because things are connecting properly at WordPress.

  If someone would advise it would be very much appreciated.

  My twitter posts have stopped showing up on my website. I have not changed anything. What is going on??

  Same with Facebook posts also!

  I figured out what’s been happening on my end. I am using the new Firefox 42.0 – to the left of the address bar is a lock icon. When I click on the icon three security options show. When I allow permissions and turn off tracking protection all the widgets in my sidebar show up and are working fine.

  I hope this helps others who might be experiencing this situation. You’ll find that this works on other websites as well. If you trust the website, toggle these options. I’ve kept them active on most as they are very effective privacy tools.

  Everyone is having this problem with Facebook and Twitter share counts not showing, and also official share buttons are not showing at all for Facebook and Twitter.

  I have a literary magazine on WordPress and managed to get some very high Facebook share/likes in recent months. It was encouraging to see just how many readers were interested in the magazine beyond WordPress itself. Now, it looks like no-one is interested in reading it at all, and I have no idea of how much interest it’s receiving on social media, I’m not impressed.

  I would imagine for some bloggers it’s essential to have those figures showing.

  Also noticed embedded tweets in my blog posts are no longer showing, just the raw text with a link, looks really ugly.

  Come on WordPress, this need a looking into as to what is going wrong!

  Other blogging platforms still have their share count showing, so why is it only on WordPress the share count and embedding of tweets are not working?
