Twitter widget doesn't work? Yoko theme

I’m trying to get the official twitter widget to work in my sidebar but all that shows up is the html code for the widget. I’ve tried all domain names for my site, which others have suggested, including tomplutecomedy.wordpress.com, http://www.tomplutecomedy.wordpress.com, tomplutecomedy.com, http://www.tomplutecomedy.com , but nothing seems to work. Also my twitter account is unprotected. Can I use this widget or do I have to just stick with the wordpress widget which I don’t like very much. Thanks.

The official Twitter widget uses code we can’t allow on WordPress.com for security reasons.
Instead, try our Twitter widget: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-widget/
