Twitter Widget from Twitter.com
-
Is there anyway to add the widget that twitter provides (found at http://twitter.com/goodies/widgets) to a WordPress.com page?
I tried to add the code to the html on a page but it was unsuccessful. I know you can use the twitter widget from WordPress.com for a sidebar, but I like the way the one from twitter.com looks and functions much more.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is there any chance that wordpress will be allowing the twitter-designed widget anytime soon? Everyone told me that wordpress was better than blogger, but after spending all week setting up my wordpress site, I’m not finding that many of the widgets I want (like the twitter designed widget) can only be used on blogger. I get the need for security but I’m feeling like I just wasted my time (and upgrade money) to have a site that I like less than the one I had for free via blogger.

It sounds like you want a specific widget but in case I’m wrong are aware of this one. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-widget/ -
Hey there,
I think what they mena Timethief is the buttone that you have on your page, like the big Facebook “F” and the Twitter “T” that links you straight through, now you can definately use them as there a lot of people doing it already, ( you yourself use them ), such as Xbox360digest etc And the code it uses is html not javascript? I don’t use it myself as I’l do that when the dotcom name arrives but for the OP yes you CAN do it. Go to Timethief’s page, she uses them herself. Not the scrolling down of your last three posts widget.
hope this helped a little

Yeah I’m a little confused, too. The widget on twitter.com is HTML (and I want to use it because it looks significantly better), but when I try to paste the code into a text widget it doesn’t let me. What’s up with that? Any ideas…

Similar question. My blog address: http://highland65.wordpress.com/
I’d like to use the T logo from Twitter, and have the code. But the Twitter widget doesn’t allow extra code to put the image in. If I use only a Text widget, I get a good T image and link, but don’t get the automatic feed of my tweets.
I just want to add the T to “Follow on Twitter.” (their logo code: <img src=”http://twitter-badges.s3.amazonaws.com/t_logo-a.png” alt=”Follow highland65 on Twitter”/>
I went through a lot of WordPress forum posts to get it figured out for LinkedIn using a Text widget, but the Twitter widget seems to be constrained.
