twitter widget not working in chrome
-
I noticed my twitter widget just says my tweets instead of showing them live. I did a little looking on the forums and cleared cache, browsing history with no success. Then after more looking I checked and it does work in internet explorer and in google on my phone. So is it just my laptop/chrome or is no one seeing it who used chrome? How do I fix it?
Thanks,

Hi Holly,
I just opened your site, I am using chrome and the Twitter widget is displaying just the way it should display.
instead of showing them live
Can you explain how you would want them to show live and maybe we can suggest a different option where possible?

Maybe live is the wrong word. When I’m on my page I don’t see the tweets, just a MY TWEETS that is a link to my twitter page. But you’re seeing the actual tweets? If so does that mean it would be related to my browser. It is up to date and I had cleared cache and browsing history. I do see actual tweets in other browsers as well as Chrome on my phone. Thank you for your help and for taking a look at it!

Hi Holly,
But you’re seeing the actual tweets?
Yes, I can see your tweets. See the screenshot I have just pasted below.

If so does that mean it would be related to my browser
Yes, that would probably be it, it still needs to be fixed though, it should not be rendering like that. I have flagged this for staff, maybe there’s a quick fix they know of.

When I’m on my page I don’t see the tweets, just a MY TWEETS that is a link to my twitter page.
If you see that on your page, it means you’re using some sort of anti-tracking software or extension in your browser that blocks tracking from social networks.
If I view your page with social tracking blocked, this is what I see: https://d.pr/i/rqZaSS
If I turn that off, I see your Twitter timeline: https://d.pr/i/QOs5Im
Check your browser settings and extension to see where you would have social network tracking blocked. You would need to allow tracking from Twitter and that should take care of it.
Let us know if you still have this problem and we’ll be happy to take a closer look.

Thank you for your help! I’ll look forward to hearing if there is a quick fix! But at least it’s working for others!

Hi there,
Another thing you can check here is to open your site homepage in an incognito browser window (in Chrome) and if you do this, do you see the tweets as expected?
An incognito window will not load extensions or cache, so it usually reflects what an anonymous visitor to your site will see.
If the widget appears normal in your incognito window, then tI would agree with helper-heroponriki that you will want to disable your browser extensions one by one to see what extension is blocking the widget functionality. Also it is a good idea to clear your cache and cookies as well, which may help. You can use the steps google recommends here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050
Also make sure you are not blocking any “3rd party cookies” as explained in that guide as well.
I’ll also add that I see the Twitter widget as normal, as others here have mentioned. Here is a screenshot of what I see on my end: https://d.pr/i/L4wi3R
Hope this helps!

Thank you! You did (sort of) solve the problem. In incognito, it worked. The culprit extension is from my Bitdefender app which has an anti-tracker utility. The funny thing is it is turned on in Chrome and Internet Explorer and the Twitter widget works in Explorer. So must be a Chrome/Bitdefender issue. At Bitdefender I cannot pick sites to not work on, so for the moment, I’ll just turn it off when I want to check that the blog is working. Thank you so much for your time and quick response!
