Twitter's Customizable Widget
-
I am trying to add Twitter’s profile widget found here: http://twitter.com/about/resources/widgets/widget_profile
However when I copy and paste the code into a text widget in my sidebar it comes up as jibberish. What am I doing wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It can’t be used here, for security reasons; it has insecure code. We have a prefab Twitter widget that you can use.

Here’s the link to the Twitter widget info > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-widget/

timethief – the wordpress twitter widget is ugly, I would really much rather use the Twitter one with lovely colours and scroll bar and stuff :)
raincoaster where can one get said prefab Twitter widget?
or does anyone know how to fix the http://twitter.com/about/resources/widgets/widget_profile code so it can be used?
-
raincoaster is referring to the widget I point to. It’s the only one that we can use on wordpress.com blogs.

There are no plans at all that we Volunteers are aware of to allow any Javascript to run on our wordpress.com blogs due to security reasons. See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/tag/code/

on twitter they say it is html rather than javascript, not that I know the difference. thanks for your help though, saved me keeping retrying it constantly.

I do know the difference and I repeat to you. The only Twitter widget I know of that will work on wordpress.com blog is the one provided by wordpress.com. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-widget/ No matter how many times you post the code you are trying to use into a wordpress.com free hosted blog the software here will strip the code out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform.
