two accounts, same address

I had this account about 4-5 years ago for eatthewholeegg.com
Went through Go Daddy to start it up again and now I have two wordpress accounts. I am able to sign into my new eatthewholeegg wordpress through the back door, but it won’t allow my to sign into wordpress.com with this new information. So, I am not able to activate gravatar and askimet for new website. What should I do?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hello – You would need to create a separate WordPress.com user account to access any of the products developed by Automattic. This account is different than the one you use for WordPress.org.

Please post to http://wordpress.org/support/ when needing help with eatthewholeegg.com as it is a self hosted site.

is there a way to delete the original eatthewholeegg.com account that I have through wordpress.com, WITHOUT deleting the current eatthewholeegg.com blog I have?

Because I am afraid, that if I try to register the NEW eatthewholeegg.com account (that I currently have through wordpress.org) that will mix everything up because I will be using the same emails to register.

    Does that make sense?

The original blog was started in 2010 and I restarted through GoDaddy this year, but GoDaddy was unable to link the two because the billing information for the original blog was through my previous business partner, not through me. But, I set up the wordpress account, so that is why my emails are registered.

Please let me know what the best course of action is.

    Thank you!

  • You would need to transfer that domain to another WordPress.com user account if you wanted to keep it after inactivating the account associated with eatthewholeegg.com. There’s no reason you need to inactivate the account.

If you install Jetpack, you should be able to connect to your WordPress.com account without deleting anything.

If you want to delete your WordPress.com site, it should have no affect on your WordPress.org content, they are separate sites.
